Description Correspondence from Mr Grainger, General Manager of the Burntisland Oil Company regarding Kinghorn Loch Arbitration. 1888. Letter telling Mr Dow that Mr George Waddell had a meeting with Provost Smith and he would like to come to an amicable agreement over the arbitration of the Loch. He goes on to suggest to Mr Dow that his company is willing to pay ?5 for permission to return the water from the loch via the lade which would, not only keep the water levels down on his company's land, but also be an advantage to the Mills during spring and summer. He goes on further so say that if the Council agree to this suggestion, it would save on expenses and avoid arbitration. dated 8th March Note from Mr Grainger acknowledging his letter and informing him that he has spoken with Mr George Waddell and that he is of the opinion that the Arbitration should proceed. dated 10th March 2 documents
